This snake was found by a young boy at Mataranka Territory Manor Motel in a hollow in a Cluster Fig (Ficus racemosa ) . The situation allowed a record image of this species, which has a wide colour variation from grey and olive-green though to various shades of brown to black and even bluish, throughout it's geogfraphic range . Harold Cogger's Reptiles ans Amphibians of Austrailia gives a coastal and adjacent inland distribution from southern New South Wales north to Queensland, Northern Territory and into Western Australia as far as Broome.
